Today, being Veteran’s Day WITCO was closed and so I didn’t have Cody or Melissa. When I first say on my schedule that I didn’t have them, I was sure they were taking them away from me because I had done something wrong…Of course, had I thought it through I should have thought of Veterans’ day. They mentioned it in both Sacrament Meeting and Relief Society Sunday, and in the Choir Broadcast. Then we had a MT Next Home Evening Monday night and heard from all the Veterans in the ward. There were five, I think: Leon Bergquist, Dick Bergquist, Vern Beesley, Wight Thomas, and Bill Neddo; and of those five, only Brother Beesley every really fought. He talked about having to be out constantly in trenches for 13 days and it was cold. He said that the city kids didn’t understand the principle of moving to stay warm and Vern and others were encouraging them to get up and stamp their feet and move around to keep the circulation going but some of them just didn’t believe and they froze to death. Bill (Neddo) was in Viet Nam a year or so before Dee. It was pretty fun to hear from them all but it was a little long. Started at 7:00 & I didn’t get home til about 10:00. But, you know all those fun people and they are fun regardless! Know what I mean, Jelly Bean?! GRIN!!

Leon Bergquist said that he was fixing cars mostly the whole time in England. One of the fun things was getting to drive the ‘General’s’ jeep and getting all these salutes and undo respect when he did. GRIN! He said he really wanted to work on planes and was in the Army Air Corp. (I think that’s what it was before it became the ‘Air Force.’) but he only every worked on cars or just the PARTs for the planes. Dick was a Korean linguist … made possible by his mission in Korea. He talked about flying reconnaissance missions and being locked on by anti-aircraft weaponry…but he said the scariest thing was when there was engine, or some other equipment trouble/failure. (Both sounded scary to me!!) Dee worked with radios and communications and that’s what Bill did, too. Those who didn’t have to fight said how grateful they were for that. Did you know Lloyd Roberts was a medic in a paratrooper (they jumped out of planes…) squad. He said he had a couple of his superior officers that offered to send him through medical school. But he said he has done what he loved. They were talking about him pulling Lowell Stoddard out of a car in the Weiser river in November one time. I didn’t catch any details much but apparently Lowell was driving and slid off the road and was in a pretty bad way in the water and Lloyd got to him and pulled him out. DeeDie said he has resuscitated people with mouth-to-mouth a few times…I had no idea. Ya never know!!

I LOVE YOU!! THE GOSPEL'S TRUE!!

HEY! Nice to hear from you, Tia!! Hope all goes smoothly on your move! How brave you are to have a birthday party for a 10 year old in the middle of 'move-preparation!!' But it probably turned out to be a good way to see lots of friends before you go!

I am trying to get you all on here...If someone would forward me what they received I'd love to know what it says and if it gives any instructions on signing up...I'm not sure what will happen. "Ignorance is bliss and I'm SOOO happy!!" "-)

Rudy is a funny dog and seems to have taken up tree climbing. Maybe he has a secret desire to be a professional logger!! He is always gripping the trees with his teeth. At first I thought he was chewing them just for something to chew on; like a chew toy. But the other day I was out there and there was a cat up the tree and he was barking his head off and was jumping at the base of the tree. As he jumped I saw him take hold of the tree with his teeth and it dawned on me that perhaps he was trying to grip the tree to get closer to the cat. I mean, he HANGS there pushing with his feet. The poor thing is NUTS! I may be giving him thought processes that are out of his reach, but I thought it was funny!

this is only a test...

Hi all. MK is adding us to the family letter blog as authors so we can all add posts to the site. It'll be really fun to see everything that everyone is up to if it works!

We move next Wed., so we're busy wrapping things up in MI. Parties galore, and packing and cleaning are on our plate for the next few days. Espen just turned 10 and had a laser tag party last night. Lots of boys and lots of noise and fun.

See you all at the reunion!

Annette sent me this email and a picture of an owl. Not sure if I can get it on but I'll try...

As you know we went to Pineview for the weekend and tested out our new spot, our old spot is no longer reservable as it is now a camp host spot. I forgot what it is like to camp in the bitter cold. It rained off and on the whole time but we still had a great trip. Chance and Alexis checked out the lake as soon as they set up their tent and came running back saying "the beach is gone, the beach is gone". The water is really high. They went swimming twice and people told them they were crazy, including Blaine and I. But they would come back shivering and all blue but with big grins on their faces!! What it is like to be young with no fear and only determination.

We met a wonderful family while we were there and became fast friends. It is always amazing to me how that can happen so fast with a complete stranger. We even had a Sunday meeting with them. There son who just came back from a mission gave the lesson and did a wonderful job. Alice the mother told Alexis and Chance how often do you get to worship in the mountains and at 10:00 at night! We even sang an opening and closing song and had a wonderful dutch oven desert.

I am attaching a picture of an owl that was camped in a tree above our camp ground. It was neat to watch it.

Take care.

Annette

~ MK says, LOOK! I got the picture on! It's easy if you can find what they tell you to click on!! "-)

TANYA! Thanks for your email. You are right, I did not have a current working email address for you! THANKS for sending me one!! ~ chris8272@digis.net ~ I guess we'll just go along here and see what develops. It will be a learn as you go, I suppose. "-) I LOVE being notified that someone has commented! It's like Christmas! "-)

Not much to report. I thought ML was coming this weekend but it didn't work out. I'm disappointed but I now I still have her visit to look forward to!! Know what I mean, Jelly Bean? "-)

Happy Birthday, Dale!! This is the day to celebrate you! Jazmine's and Daryl's birthdays are Wednesday, the 28th! Happy Birthday to them, also! Denise's birthday is June 1st which isn't many days away but I wasn't thinking about it because it's in a different month! "-) Silly me! Happy Birthday, Denise, in a less than a week!!

I wish there was a way for everyone to be notified when there is a comment or posting. I was going to do a new post to add this and then I got to a place that allowed me to edit this posting. However, I'm not sure how I got to that place...It would be a learning experience is I could ever remember what I have done.... "-) Ain't life grand?! "-)

LOVE thinking about you all!!

Best4Last news!

I had the wrong date on there! Silly Me! I couldn't see how to edit my post so I guess I'll just make a new post.

My bathtub has always been slow to drain and I put some drain-o down there every once in a while and it does ok...Well, the other day it didn't seem to drain at all! I got out of the tub and looked back and it hadn't gone down a bit! I took the plunger to it and let it sit for a while...Still, not much change. I took the plunger to it again and let it sit again and it was down some, but not enough to really call it 'draining.' I did that a couple more times and finally went in there and realized I had not blocked open the drain as you have to do. You have to put this thing to hold down the little 'thing' that opens the drain. I felt pretty dumb but there was one benefit. The tub is draining really well now! I need to use the plunger on it more often!!

I LOVE YOU!!
THE GOSPEL'S TRUE!!

May 7, 2008

Tia, it's fun to read about you and yours!! What a great thing this may turn out to be! It feels promising!!

I'm having more water trouble. Something that the furnace repair people did changed something so the irrigation system is no longer getting water. I'm calling everyone and they are all claiming it couldn't POSSIBLY be anything they did! In the mean time, there is no rain and the lawn needs water!

Spent TOO long with Activity Day girls yesterday. We went out to Kirk Chandler's place (Frank & Nancy's oldest son for those who would understand that relationship) where they have sheep and are lambing. The girls got to see twins come in to the world! However, it did take quite a bit longer than usual and by the time I got the girls in my car delivered back home, I was pretty tired of 10 year old screaming! They are pretty cute little girls, however, and some of them are actually calm and quiet... "-)

May 4, 2008

Tomorrow is Dee's birthday and Thursday was Sean's and we have LOTS in May! Seems like once I figured it was our biggest month. That certainly could have changed!

I was inspired by Tia's blog email. WOW! Great looking house!!

I don't know what you have to do to comment on here. I'm sure there is a way to do this. I clicked on Tia's blog to comment or sign in, I can't recall for sure, and this blog I created a year or 3 ago came up. I think we should do this rather than the Family Letter.
